Michael Minor

President and CEO

Michael (Mike) Minor became president and CEO of Bibles Books and Shovels, Inc. in 2003 when the organization was formally incorporated and received the Non-Profit status (501c3) from the Internal Revenue Service.  Mike has made two trips to the Mombasa area of Kenya the last time was in 2004.  Under Mike’s leadership the organization has established all of the normal processes needed to be a complete not-for-profit organization.

Mike is also very involved with the American Red Cross.  In 2005 he received the American Red Cross Delmarva Peninsula’s William F. DuPont Award for excellence in service delivery.  Mike is also very involved with local church activities where he is on several boards at Central Baptist Church, and is the current moderator of the American Baptist Association Delaware Division.  Mike’s hobbies include playing in a jazz group, golf, fishing, bicycling, and going to the health club.

Mike was born December 21, 1943 in Indianapolis, Indiana.  Because of the work situation his family moved to Toledo, Ohio where he lived until he went into the U.S. Marines.  After an honorable discharge Mike joined a major oil refiner and in 1971 was transferred from Toledo, Ohio to the Delaware area.  After 29 years of work at the oil refiner in a management position Mike retired and started his own business.  Mike was contracted and worked around the US and in Bombay, India.

Mike and his wife Virginia started supporting one child in the Mombasa, Kenya area and this was the beginning of what has became known as Bibles Books and Shovels.  Mike is very grateful for the support and dedication of all people associated with Bibles Books and Shovels.

One Line statement: I believe Jesus is calling for committed people to glorify the Father.
